not-for-profit local food co-op
Are you looking for an alternative to the supermarkets for your weekly shop? Do you want to support local producers but don't have the time to search them out? Do you want the option of picking up your weekly shopping or get it delivered to your door? Are you looking for a flexible way to buy local food and drink? DE4 Food is the answer...
DE4 Food connects you with local food and drink producers through our online shop. Order online for the best in local produce each week and either pick up your order from our hub in Tansley each Thursday or get a home delivery.
There is no ongoing commitment to buy each week or a minimum order value. DE4 Food is here to provide you with a flexible alternative to supermarket shopping and home delivery.
DE4 Food is a not-for-profit local food co-op bringing together an ever-expanding range of local artisan food and drinks delivered to your door or available to pick up from Tansley (UK). It costs £1 to become a member of DE4 Food, which is payable with your first food order and once a member you can have a say in how the co-op runs.
DE4 Food is a co-operative social enterprise made up of small-scale local food and drink producers and their customers. This is a new enterprise but they have been working on this idea for a while and now we are finally ready to open the online shop and start trading. It feels like this has been a very long journey for the founding directors and members with many stops along the way. The idea for setting up a local food co-op developed out of Transition Matlock’s research on how to create a sustainable local food system. A jigsaw was created to show all the different types of businesses and skills that would be needed to build a sustainable local food economy.
