The Robin Hood Army
to get surplus food to the less fortunate
The Robin Hood Army is a volunteer based organization that works to get surplus food from restaurants across to the less fortunate people.
Our local chapters are run by friends and colleagues who hope to create a difference in their own small way. For example, restaurants in Green Park, Delhi will contribute to the homeless of the locality via volunteers who live in Green Park. Our volunteers are largely students and young working professionals. The lesser fortunate sections we help include homeless families, night shelters, orphanages, and patients from public hospitals.
The Robin Hood Army is a very decentralized organization and does not accept monetary contributions- we just need your time.

The challenge is not a lack of food — it is making food consistently available to everyone who needs it. Hunger kills more people each year than AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined. Every 10 seconds, a child dies from hunger. 82% of hungry people live in countries with food surpluses, not food shortages. One in every eight people sleeps hungry each night. One-third of the food produced around the world is never consumed. 850 million hungry people in the world.
