Center for Action and Contemplation
Center of Christian mystical tradition
Fr. Richard Rohr is a globally recognized ecumenical teacher bearing witness to the universal awakening within Christian mysticism and the Perennial Tradition. He is a Franciscan priest of the New Mexico Province and founder of the Center for Action and Contemplation (CAC) in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Fr. Richard's teaching is grounded in the Franciscan alternative orthodoxy—practices of contemplation and lived kenosis (self-emptying), expressing itself in radical compassion, particularly for the socially marginalized.
Located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the Center for Action and Contemplation (CAC) is the home of the Living School for Action and Contemplation. The CAC's administrative offices and Bookstore have served people internationally for over 25 years, supporting the world-renowned ecumenical ministry of Richard Rohr, OFM. As founder of the CAC and Academic Dean of the Living School, Fr. Richard's teachings form the basis of the organization's vision and on-going work.
The CAC is dedicated to facilitating a universal awakening by providing educational materials, events, and curriculum that bear witness to the Christian tradition of contemplative practice and compassionate action.
