NewStart Magazine (UK)
Writing about a new local economics
New Start was launched as the UK’s first regeneration magazine in February 1999. Since then it has told the stories of the people and projects creating social and economic change in local areas in the UK and internationally. It has championed urban regeneration that is inclusive, sustainable and socially just. New Start Magazine is part of Centre for Local Economic Strategies CLES, Express Networks.
Centre for Local Economic Strategies (CLES) is the UK’s leading independent charitable research and member organisation, with a focus on economic development, regeneration and place-making. They think and do – promoting action and implementing new progressive economic activities which create positive environmental, health and social outcomes. In all their work the relationship between place, economy and people is central. CLES works with the commercial, social, and public sector as well as local and national governments, across the UK and beyond. They are unique, and work with many partner organisations who share our passion for developing a better and more resilient story for our places, people and economies.
