Economics for Transition
What happens when journalism comes from a place of the heart?! Listen how beautiful radio can be by listening to the podcasts of Upstream, a bold series of podcasts that invites you to unlearn everything you thought you knew about economics. At Upstream, they look at economics a bit differently. Forget everything you associate with ECON 101: all the jargon about supply and demand, the mathematics, the indecipherable theories. Of course, there's a place for all that stuff. But this isn't it. Upstream is a show about economics that tells the stories of how we live and relate to each other - socially, culturally, politically, psychologically. They don't take our current capitalist system as a given. They don't assume that we are all self-interested, rational consumers. They are not interested in business as usual. What Upstream is interested in is telling the stories of the people, places, and ideas that bring us closer to a new way of living.
Upstream is a podcast about economics that isn't boring. Produced by Della Z Duncan & Robert R Raymond @ Economics For Transition. Della is an economist, teacher, broadcast journalist, and artist. Her mission is to host opportunities for people to introduce themselves to divisions within themselves, divisions between themselves and others, and divisions between themselves and nature. Robert spends most of his time immersed in the world of music and all things audio. He has many different audio projects going on all the time: his own, with others, and as an engineer/producer for artists all over the United States.
